About Us

The AFROTC Detachment 536 Armed Knight Drill Team is a Clarkson University recognized club open to all students enrolled at the university, although we are comprised mainly of Air Force cadets. The first team was formed during the 1986-1987 school year. After a hiatus for several years, the team was started up again in 2002 and has been running ever since.

Our purpose as a team is to provide an excellent experience to those who participate by giving them a chance to learn something unique and challenging, building strength, discipline, and time management skills in the process. Throughout the year, we perform routines at several events such as Clarkson athletic events, parents weekend, AFROTC orientation at the beginning of the year and parade at the end, and most notably, the annual Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute Drill Meet where several schools send drill teams to compete in several categories. We also look for new opportunities as they arise.

As a team, we pride ourselves in building better cadets for the future of the Air Force, serving our community, and improving our college experience. Our goal is to constantly raise the standard of excellence we're constantly striving to achieve.
