2014-2015 Year

It's with great pleasure for me to say that the drill team will be continuing into the 2014-2015 school year. With a new commander and a fresh batch of incoming cadets, I hope to see the team succeed just as much as they did last year. This year's commander will be C/3C Langlois, Clarkson '17. I have confidence he will lead the team to greater success than I did.
Any volunteers, cadets and civilians, are encouraged to at least give drill team a try. It's a very unique and rewarding experience that you'll remember for quite some time.

Good luck, Armed Knights!

32nd RPI Drill Meet

The Det. 536 Drill Team traveled to RPI this year and competed in the Armed Exhibition and Two-Man Trick categories. both teams performed very well, with the Armed Exhibition Team scored only 5 points behind the 1st place team, Penn State. The Two-Man Trick team won 1st place out of a total of 8 teams that competed in that category. As commander, I'm extremely proud of all of the hard work the members have put in year round, despite having busy school and ROTC schedules. Thank you everyone for the support and we hope to compete again next year!

Pictures and videos of this year's meet will hopefully be posted soon.

First Meeting

Today was our first meeting! It was an info meeting, so no rifle practice (yet). We've got a good team this year, two new cadets joining (Langlois and Lehenbauer) so we're very excited for that. Here's to a great year, and we're off to a great start! Our commander is the one holding the rifle, and I'm the one taking the picture (so obviously you can't see me)!

Back Row (Left to Right): Alex Cartier, Alex Bennet, Nathaniel Lehenbauer. Front Row (Left to Right): Jedd Langlois, Nick Donato, Matt Letourneau, Damian Curreri.

First Meeting and Honor Guard Interview

Hello all!

Our first Drill Team meeting of the year is scheduled to take place at the lower Cheel parking lot at 1300 on Sunday, 1 September. All who are interested are highly encouraged to attend! Please contact us if you have any questions.

Also, the Drill Team has contacted the official Air Force Honor Guard and will be conducting an email interview with them. If anybody has any questions that you would like to ask, please send them to us. Thank you all for the continued interest and support as we work to start the 2013-2014 year off well!

Some History

I recently (just today actually) contacted all the graduates of the ROTC program here at Det.536. Many of the emails no longer worked, but many did! And I received quite a few responses, so thank you to all those who replied. One of the most interesting things I received was a picture from our very first Drill Team here at Det 536 (now in our history page)! Here's the picture:

Some Updates

Greetings!

Attached below are some pictures from our (preparing for) NSOP Demonstration. Pictures from the actual demonstration will be posted later. As you can see, we're a very resourceful team. What do you do when there's not enough rifles? Just use a branch!
